Frog Spawn
Our pond is full of frog spawn and the odd frog. More bulbs are pushing through and the primroses are in flower, all positive signs of new life and growth, spring is definitely on the horizon.

Its raining today but we had perfect weather for my Mum's 81st birthday. Went for a walk along Sand Point which is at the end of the beach where we live. The picture of her on her own is near the start of the walk, that's after we had climbed the hill and the one with both of us is about as far as we could go without falling off.

This weekend the weather has been amazing, warm, sunny and blue skies. Who would have guessed we are still in February.
Beautiful night as well, a sliver of silvery moon with one bright star on its tail.

Took my piece for Mapping The Future down to The Brewhouse in Taunton yesterday. The exhibition starts on Saturday, looking forward to seeing hung, it should be a very exciting exhibition. The catalogue is informative and interesting. To see the piece that I am entering look at the older post that refers to it.
On Sunday went for a walk on the beach, a bit chilly, but found what should be an amazing piece of driftwood with some work done to it, an old tree trunk still with thick branches of ivy round it. When the weather is warmer I should be able to work on it outside and get some lovely shapes it it. Hopefully it will also be suitable for a bit of weaving to be incorporated into it.

The finished piece
Wednesday, 8 February 2012
My piece for Elemental Rainbow is finally finished (sighs of relief) having removed it from the loom and dyed it, it is now hanging out to dry. Final photo to follow soon. My husband preferred it in shades of white, maybe I did as well but I am certainly not making another piece like that for a while.
Onward to the next exhibition at the Bristol Guild in June, I need to make at least six pieces for this.

Drove through the Somerset levels, a perfect day sunny but cold and surrounded by beautiful views, many of the fields were full of herds of swans. The sun was sparkling on he water in the rhynes. Passed through a place where they are still digging peat. It is sad that thousands of year old landscapes are still being destroyed for the sake of gardeners.
