I get so frustrated when I try to follow a new blog and can't work out how. I find the especially happens at Wordpress and some Blogger sites. When you press the subscribe button it comes up with a page of gobbly gook. Ok I know I follow enough blogs already but I'm addicted and they are all so interesting.
At least some people only blog once a month or so, otherwise my whole day would disappear.

Mapping the Future
Yesterday we went to The Brewhouse, Taunton where I have my Mapping the Future piece in an exhibition. The exhibition is fascinating and thought provoking and includes loads of fantastic work. Unfortunately I forgot my camera but you can see some of the work on the blog mappingthefuturewhereareyou.wordpress.com
My favourite piece was called The Souvenir Shop by Helen Price which I could have looked at all day. It consists of a cabinet with loads of random stuff in it, including little nesting type baskets with lichens, rusty stuff, driftwood all sorts really. All my favourite things which I randomly collect and don't do anything with, which of course is why I was so drawn to it.
Gave me lots of ideas.

Took my piece for Mapping The Future down to The Brewhouse in Taunton yesterday. The exhibition starts on Saturday, looking forward to seeing hung, it should be a very exciting exhibition. The catalogue is informative and interesting. To see the piece that I am entering look at the older post that refers to it.
On Sunday went for a walk on the beach, a bit chilly, but found what should be an amazing piece of driftwood with some work done to it, an old tree trunk still with thick branches of ivy round it. When the weather is warmer I should be able to work on it outside and get some lovely shapes it it. Hopefully it will also be suitable for a bit of weaving to be incorporated into it.

Mapping The Future: Where Are You Now?
This is my piece for Mapping the Future: Where are you now?
This exhibition will be held at the Brewhouse, Taunton Thurs 23 Feb - Sat 24th March 2012
Open Monday to Saturday 10 - 5.30pm
Its promising to be an interesting and thought provoking exhibition with many different interpretations of the title.
This is not a tapestry piece and made for an interesting and fun change. I spent several days over the summer taking pictures of people sitting on the bench near my house.
