Further progress

These are the most recent 4 pieces of ongoing 8 feet length. This is really like doing a very long sampler and is a good way of practicing new techniques. The most recent piece (above) is in double weave which I haven't done before. The very plain piece will have sea glass added later and the fluffy piece will be trimmed.

Elemental Rainbow

The very beginning

The next piece
These are taken from a new piece for an exhibition by the South West Textile Group. More about the exhibition later. The idea is that members create a strip of textile 5" wide by 8' long from the colour circle.
We also have done a 5" x 5" square in our colour.
Ok I know this doesn't look very colourful but I am dying my piece after it comes off the loom.
I have decided to make the whole strip of 5" x 5" squares all connected.
As I am weaving this on a small knitters loom and rolling on I only get to see about 9" at a time, hence the photo of each piece otherwise I'd forget what I had already done.

My 5" square mounted

This is the approximate colour that the finished piece will be.  The colour is light azure, this looks
a bit brighter than it actually is.

Mapping The Future: Where Are You Now?

This is my piece for Mapping the Future: Where are you now?
This exhibition will be held at the Brewhouse, Taunton Thurs 23 Feb - Sat 24th March 2012
Open Monday to Saturday 10 - 5.30pm
Its promising to be an interesting and thought provoking exhibition with many different interpretations of the title.

This is not a tapestry piece and made for an interesting and fun change. I spent several days over the summer taking pictures of people sitting on the bench near my house.

Ivy Branch

This is a piece of my work. This piece uses driftwood that I find on the beach I then construct a wire warp directly on the wood and weave in it.
