what a beautiful exhibition yours & Liz's works compliment each other beautifully, love the driftwood sculptures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mo for your kind words, Liz and I do work well together and our interests in nature and in textiles overlapbut don't compete which always helps.
DeleteUpon first viewing, this phrase, "land tracks" popped into my head. Your work Debbie, and Liz's work compliment each other so wonderfully in this exhibit.. The colors, the weaving, the sculptures are so rich with texture that one can almost feel them leap off the computer screen. I resonate deeply with any creative work that speaks to me of landscape and this exhibit does so in an almost three dimensional quality especially your weaving in the second to the last photo, at first I marveled at how you could weave bark ! your weaving has such depth...Thank you for sharing all of this with us.
ReplyDeleteMarti thank you once again for your wonderful words you make my work come to life.
DeleteI will pass on your and Mo's words to Liz.
Oh, how I wish I could see all this in person. I have many favorites, and like others, I am struck by how well your work goes together. I dabble in frame weaving, but now must accept my arthritic hands will no longer cooperate. I especially like your open weaving. I also have made vessels of various kinds, and I'm wondering what materials have gone into Liz's vessels? Does she have an online presence? Exquisite art, congratulations to you both!!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks for your comments, my Mum had to give up weaving because of her hands, luckily mine are ok at the moment.. Glad you like the work, Liz has a website www.celticstitch.co.uk
DeleteI am taken with how beautiful both of your work looks on display. As my eyes dance and flit across the screen, I am childlike in my desire to hurry on to the next one, while still spending more time with the piece I am viewing. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy I am so glad that our work appeals to you in such a wonderful way.
