This is my piece for the SWTG exhibition at Westonbirt Arboretum which opens today from 10 until 4 finishing on 20th of this month.
I have seen some of the other work being displayed and it looks like its well worth a visit. See their website for general information http://www.forestry.gov.uk/westonbirt
In the dappled light of the forest, with leaves floating down and crackling under foot, comes a wood nymph adorned in floating cloth marked by the land, kissed by the creativity of a woman who weaves story and uses the gifts of the land...Debbie, the scarf, top and skirt are simply, exquisite.
Marti I was sure I replied to your post but it seems to have disappeared. Thank you for your kind words and the imagery, love it, I think I might have to use it in my profile if that is ok with you.

DeleteYes Debbie, it is more than ok because your work inspired my words.
DeleteThe leaf imprints are remarkably strong ...
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz, I find that sumac and maple leaves print well especially on the silk noil, my favourite fabric as it is easy to dye and to stitch into.
