Still life now has a background and is waiting to be framed. |
I have been feeling very sad today after our Brexit vote and have not been able to concentrate on much. I have been wandering around in and out of the garden between showers and just doing some finishing off on framing some of the pieces for our Shoreline exhibition of which I have taken some pictures. Some finished and nearly finished work
Finished piece |
Well what to say about this, it is in a state of disarray while I work out what to do with it. Its supposed to be one of those tangles of seaweed seen on the strand line. |
Another strand line piece forgot the photo until I had put the glass on |
A small piece for a driftwood looking frame. |
Some of us in the US are sad too. All beautiful pieces, but I especially love the last photo. Your colors are always peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara, I am still feeling rather numb and slightly scared about our future.
ReplyDeleteA lot of us are a bit scared about what could happen in the US as well. Hopefully things will sort themselves out. Keeping the faith!
Deletelove these strand lines Debbie!

DeleteI'm sad too, Debbie! For you in UK and for us in the "rest" of Europe... Your work is beautiful, some day I'd love to see it "live"! Ciao from Italy, Helga
ReplyDeleteThanks Helga, you might find lots of us emigrating to Europe if we are still allowed to, though hopefully things will work out.
Deleteit's such a strange time. feels as if humanity is being asked
ReplyDeleteto face some very deep questions about who we truly want to be
and then face our own answers. Sad. yes.
So much of what i thought was True seems in question.
so, we Make things...in the midst of it all.
Love to you
Grace you are right it is a strange disorienting time, I hope we are asking the right questions but making yes it keeps us going, a small still time of calm in an increasingly scary world.
ReplyDeletevery sad indeed, I have been reevaluating my entire stance on so many issues since brexit

ReplyDeleteArt and creativity are the best medicine in thi horrible dark time.Zenophobia, racism and small minds are so ugly.
ReplyDeleteLove your work, Debbie. I am sad about what happened to the UK also. What is to become of us on both sides of the Atlantic?
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind words on this subject, it is only just beginning to really sink in for many people exactly how much damage this is doing.
